CMWP Uzbekistan supported the international architectural congress Archica 2026, which took place in Tashkent on April 6-7.
The congress provided participants with an opportunity for professional networking with both masters of Uzbek architecture and young teams on a single platform. Experts exchanged views on urban development, approaching it from the perspective of various industries: architects, real estate consultants, climatologists, certification and green building experts, designers, engineers, and urban planners.
Alexey Letunovsky, Head of Project Consulting and Data Management at CMWP Uzbekistan, served as a speaker in one of the congress sessions.
“From Climate Risks to Concrete Solutions: An Interdisciplinary Roadmap for the Future of Central Asian Cities. The World We Value: Shaping the Living Environment in a Changing Climate,” was how the session's problem statement was formulated.
In his presentation on “The Impact of Climate and Ecology on Real Estate Investment Attractiveness,” Alexey drew the audience's attention to the differences in real estate requirements from all market players and participants.
Uzbekistan faces the challenge of finding a balance between economic development and environmental safety.
“Currently, most apartment buyers primarily consider the price and location of a property, while businesses focus on finding offices with clear long-term lease terms and reliable engineering infrastructure. However, increasing attention from all user groups is being paid to ‘perceptible’ environmental factors: indoor temperature, air pollution, and humidity, as well as the presence of green spaces and shade in courtyards. Developers and investors must listen to users and consider the gradual shift in demand vectors.
At present, the financial valuation of projects and existing properties insufficiently accounts for the factor of a changing climate and the associated risks. Our company, a real estate consulting firm and a stakeholder in development, has decided to dedicate more attention to this topic in our work,” Alexey noted during the discussion.
