Currently, there are 22.8 sq. m of residential area per person

As of July 1, 2023, the population of Tashkent has approached 3 million people. The international consulting company Commonwealth Partnership Uzbekistan (CMWP) believes that the number of capital city residents will continue to grow in the future.

As reported to "Kursiv" by the organization, by 2035, the number of capital city residents will increase to 4 million, and by 2050, to 5.4 million. The company attributes this trend to accelerated urbanization and the attraction of personnel from all over Uzbekistan to the urban labor market.

Tashkent's population density is already estimated to be comparable to global centers such as London, Hong Kong, and Milan. It is considered that there are 68 people per 1 hectare of the Uzbek capital. At the same time, Tashkent has a more uniform distribution of residents than other large cities.

The majority of the Uzbek capital's population lives in private houses. The housing provision level in Tashkent is 22.8 sq. m per capita.

CMWP noted that with the population growth in Tashkent, the issue of qualitative improvement of the housing stock will become more pressing. Highly qualified personnel will require quality housing.
